Welcome to MuayThaiArt.com/weblog! Yes, another lesson of MuayThai’s Cherng Mud is back. Muay Thai Cherng Mud is punching moves in Muay Thai. It’s really great for those of you who’ve just starting Muay Thai and have no one to train and teach you this. Or if you’re already been used to with it already, this is gonna be a really good review. So, stay with us and remember all the lessons here are FREE!

KHOK NASA is also identified as the Bent Fist. This move is used for attacking. This strike is delivered by bending the elbow and delivering the blow sideward and downward, aiming to the opponent’s nose or to his left jaw (if you’re right-handed). Even the inner wrist is bent to apply greater strength to the punch. If you want to do this move, you have to step your left foot forward, then your body will be twisted to the left and the punch will be thrown down in a swift move.

Let’s take a look at our drawing of this move first.

Now, while attacking the boxer must avoid looking down to his feet or the ground if he is likely to throw uppercuts. To defend against this move, the left hand should be held up to shield against the blow coming from the left side. The left arm will also be used to sweep over in a smooth motion to ward off the boxer’s right arm, and the body is slightly swayed to maintain the balance.

To defense: Use your left knee to strike the right rib of the boxer. If the boxer is a left-handed, just reverse the described moves above using the opposite site of the body.

That is it for KHOK NASA or the Bent Fist. Stay with us for the next Muay Thai punching move right here.

The Way of the Dragon by Bruce Lee

Welcome back to MuayThaiArt.com/weblog! We’re back with another old movie. However this old movie I’m talking about was made by a Legend, Bruce Lee. So that makes it a lot more interesting to watch.

The Way of the Dragon is considered to be Lee’s best film. He wrote, directed and starred in this action movie. He took a role of a na?ve country boy sent to Rome to help his relatives. A calm and kind Asian like himself will turn into a killing machine once he’s pissed by some bad guys.

If the hero is an Asian guy, so the bad guy has to be a Caucasian. Real-life Karate Champion Chuck Norris took this role and he had to fight against Bruce in the film. So you imagine how well the fighting scenes had turned out. The fight scene against Chuck Norris remains supreme to this day. Bruce had to take hours of Boxing and Wrestling class just for this scene.

However, there are some funny scenes when Bruce had a difficult time adjusting into a new environment. But that makes the film plot really similar to many other of his films like The Big Boss (since there are quite number of the same people appearing in both films) and it could be boring for many critics because they always want to find something new.

Note: Mohammed Ali, the great heavyweight boxer at that time, had an influence in Bruce’s style of fighting. If you have noticed, in this film, Bruce is more on his toes not flat footed as in his earlier movies.

When it first ran at the Asian cinemas, the Way of the Dragon grossed $HK 5 million. For Bruce Lee fans, the Way of the Dragon still remains the greatest Bruce Lee film of all time.

So if you get a chance to rent or even better buy this film to your martial arts collection, I recommend you should do so. If you really are martial arts fan, this movie can never disappoint you.

Speak of Thai: Who is she?

Hi guys! Are you ready for our Thai lesson today? Today’s dialog is how to ask a basic question “Who is she?” Basically you can use this everywhere, for example, you go to your friend’s party and you spot this beautiful girl and you wanna ask your friend who she is or maybe this beautiful girl is a star because people are taking pictures of her.

Let’s take a look at our dialog and then I’ll tell you what each sentence means and then a list of crucial vocabularies from this dialog. Let’s get started, shall we?

Pu Ying Kon Nun Klai? - Who is she?
Kon Nai? - Which one?
Kon Tee Suay Suay Ngai - The one that is so beautiful.
Ar…Peoan Chan/Pom Eng - Ar…she’s my friend.

Alright, that wasn’t too hard I suppose. Now I’ll break it down for you. There are many new words you need to know in this dialog. But remember you don’t need to memorize all the new word this time. Try to focus on the phrases and how to say them above.

Pu Ying = girl, woman
Kon = person, human
Nun = that
Klai = who
Nai = which, where
Suay = beautiful (we say it twice to indicate that she is really beautiful)
Peoan = friend

You might still remember that Chan and Pom is “I” for a woman or a man. Here I said Peoan Chan or Peoan Pom which mean my friend. So you can see that when Chan and Pom are following a noun, here is Peoan, they will become possessive pronoun “my”.

Ok I don’t want to take much about grammar. The most important is how to use it. But you can always comment and tell us what you want to learn here, we can change our way of lesson anytime if that would suit your need. Alright it’s time for us to leave. We’ll be back again for another lesson next week. See you then right here at MuayThaiArt.com/weblog!

Today is time for our forth Mauy Thai Cherng Mud. There are 15 of them in total and we are here every two days to teach you all about Muay Thai moves. MuayThaiArt.com/weblog is the only place where you can read and learn about Muay Thai Cherng Mud online for FREE. So stick with us and our article right here.

Today move is called PRAKAN PERN LOK or TURNS FRONTS SIDE PUNCH. This is not very easy to do, so make sure you pay good attention. Let’s see what it is first then like we usually do, we tell you how to attack and how to defense right after.

How to perform this move: The boxer has to take a pace to the fore and proceed to deliver a right uppercut to the other person or his opponent’s chin. This move is above all used for defense or escape. The boxer can throw an uppercut with either hand, but it should be thrown from the inside. That’s because if the punch is thrown from the outside, the boxer or you will become vulnerable to defense the coming attacks and can easily be thwarted by your opponent since this mistake move gives enough time for your opponent to defend or attack as you throw your hand back to gain force.

Here’s how to Attack: Use the left hand to create a sweeping motion and wipe the boxer’s arm down. Your head can also be leaned back to stay away from the approaching uppercut.

To Defense: Use your left foot to hit the boxer on the abdomen. You can also throw your elbow to the boxer’s face. If the attacker is left-handed, then the attacking and countering moves should be one in reverse.

Let’s take a look at our drawing for better picture.
