Another month is about to end but our Muay Thai 24 Cherng Sok still continue in the next month, so don’t go away. Keep visiting us right here for Muay Thai Free lessons. You can learn how to do this on your own at home or even better you can ask your Muay Thai trainer for advise or any further questions you wish to know.
As we always do it, we will tell you what the move is and how to perform in step-by-step. So here we are.
The move of today is one of the Cherng Sok (Elbow moves) called KAMPANG POOPA. The name doesn’t really describe the move actually. However, it has an English name called “the Swinging Back Elbows Alternately” which I’m not sure it will help you understand it more. Let’s skip to the how to perform so you can see the picture.
Picture this. When you make a punch, kick or elbow at your opponent and you miss, mostly you will lose your balance and won’t be able to defend any attack effectively. So here is what you can do. After you know that oh shoot you miss the target, you will shift to a stance as fast as you can and turn your back to your opponent. So to prevent from any attack from the back by your opponent, try to use this move by throwing your elbows back. Swing your elbow, left or right to hit your opponent in the face and the use the other one, swinging back to hit his midsection. Alternate the action rapidly.
To the attack: Make sure your opponent is not too far behind from you before throwing your elbows back.
To the defense: insert an arm under the armpits of your opponent who is about to use this technique with you and use your inner wrist to put some force to on his neck to bend his head down as much as possible. When you are sure that you’re safe from this move and lock your opponent is this position (bent down head), counterattack by using your knee to hit his chin.
You can never believe this! Not many people can keep up boxing career when they reach a certain age. Not for this guy, Dexter Dunworth or Dingo who is 52 this year. His boxing record is 8(all KO)-1-0. Let’s watch this born-Australian fighter can do in the boxing ring.

Is he trying to tell us not to give up the thing we love so easily? Think about it! We love boxing, don’t we?
That’s right! It’s time for you to learn the next Muay Thai Cherng Sok today. I really hope the lessons help you to understand and know more about Muay Thai or Thaiboxing. You know it’s not the same with international boxing or kickboxing, there are a lot of different things and rules between Thaiboxing and other types of boxing. Cherng Sok is one of the things. Muay Thai 24 Cherng Sok is basically how to use “elbows” as your weapons in Muay Thai Boxing.
The Cherng Sok we are going to talk about in a sec today is called “AKKEE SONG SANG”. It is the Thai name for throwing the elbow and the punch. This technique is quite popular and well-known itself. Here below is how to do it. Take a look!
First of all you have to know what it is used for. This technique is used for attack. To do so, you have to use your left fist to deliver an uppercut punch or “Mad Soy Dao” or also called “Star Gathered” targeting your opponent’s face or chin. Right after that, turn your upper body to lend force to the right side of your body to follow the first move up with another attack by your right elbow targeting your opponent’s rib or chest. To prevent any counterattacks, use your right and left fists and elbows to guard yourself. And watch out, be aware of getting kick in your body because you are keeping your arm high to do the technique and leaving your midsection opened.
To the Attack: Wipe down the uppercut punch with your right arm and without delay block the elbow’s blow with your arm that’s coming to your chest area. Or you can move back to avoid the attack and think for the next move. And like I said above, always watch out for your body from getting hit by your opponent’s knee. You can block any kicks by turning your twisting your body and turning your hip towards your opponent.

Set against the action-packed world of Mixed Martial Arts, NEVER BACK DOWN is the story of Jake Tyler, a tough kid who leads with his fists, and, often, with his heart. Jake Tyler, played by Sean Faris (Yours, Mine and Ours), is the new kid in town with a troubled past. He has recently moved to Orlando, Florida with his family who has relocated to support his younger brother’s shot at a professional tennis career. Jake was a star athlete on the football team at home, but in this new city he is an outsider with a reputation for being a quick tempered brawler.
Making an attempt to fit in, and at the invitation of a flirtatious classmate, Baja, played by Amber Heard (Hidden Palms, Alpha Dog), Jake goes to a party where he is unwittingly pulled into a fight with a bully named Ryan McCarthy, played by Cam Gigandet (The O.C., Who’s Your Caddy?). While he is defeated and humiliated in the fight, a classmate introduces himself to Jake and tells him about the sport known as Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). He sees a star in Jake and asks that he meet with his mentor, Jean Roqua, played by Djimon Hounsou (Blood Diamond, In America).
It is immediately apparent to Jake that MMA is not street fighting, but rather an art form he wants to master. Roqua will take Jake under his wing, but it is up to Jake to find the patience, discipline, willingness and reason within him to succeed. For Jake, there is much more at stake than mere victory. His decision will not just settle a score; it will define who he is.

It does look so cool in the trailer just like all the fighting action movies which I’m sure you have seen it at least once. But I gotta warn you, if you’re huge MMA fan, you might get pissed. Well it’s because you know MMA is nothing like what you see in this film. It looks more like a bunch of kids fighting on the street for some stupid reasons. However, I positively think that the film mainly wants to show you the fact of the teenage life today.
Watch it just for fun. And I’m quite sure many people will like it!
