Mike Tyson

Here is another good example of a very cruel boxer. He has got so many nicknames like “Iron Mike”, “The Baddest Man on the Planet” or “Kid Dynamite” but I wanna call him “Ear Eater”.

Michael Gerard or Mike Tyson was born on June 30, 1966. He is now a retired American boxer who was once the undisputed heavyweight champion and remains the youngest man ever to win and lose a world heavyweight title. But unluckily he wasn’t just well-known for his boxing career but his controversial behavior both inside and outside the ring fight.

He won his first 19 pro bouts by knockout, how amazing was that, and 12 of which in the first round. He was the Heavyweight Champion for over 2 years until he lost to an underdog Buster Douglas in 1990.

Too bad the guy is not good at keeping himself clean. 16 years ago in 1992, he was convicted of raping a woman. And as a consequence for that he served 3 years in prison. He was back to fight after he was released from the prison. But he didn’t do some good works as he did before even though he regained a portion of the heavyweight title because only a year later he lost to Evander Holyfield, poor guy, who lost an ear in their rematch a year later.

He continued fighting though until he retired from competitive boxing only 3 years ago after two consecutive KO losses to Danny Williams and Kevin MaBride.

Now let’s take a look at the video clip below of some of his KO collection. You can look for more of his clips in YouTube or anywhere. I’m sure his name will remain unforgettable for quite a long time due to his fame in the past.

As you know the great event next week on July 26 is a fight between two warriors, Cotto and Margarito. Who is going to beat whose ass up?

Margarito is a highly dimensional boxer who will fight until he drops. He will keep punching and go forward. On the other hand, Cotto sure can box and bang, alright. He can be too much for Margarito. Who knows?

This 12 round WBA Welterweight title will be held in MGM Grand, Las Vegas on Saturday, July 26. The match will be telecasted by HBO PPV at 9pm ET/6pm PT. You can check out the website for more information.

At YouTube I found this promo clip that I think is quite good. Just take is as a good warm up for this upcoming event.

This is not a fight between Puerto Ricans and Mexicans. This is so much more than that. Who will retain the title? We will have to wait and see.

Who is the best Muay Thai fighter?

Hi guys! Willkommen to MuayThaiArt.com/weblog! I was wondering and asked myself that question which is what today’s article will be about. But then I realized I should scope the timeline down a bit, just in the past 2 hundreds years. So my actual question was who the best Muay Thai fighter is in the past 200 years.

So what I did was looking online and asking many trainers and guess what there are so many answers for that questions, so I can’t conclude. And basically whoever once a World champion are all said to be good, though not all are the best. No offense, but let’s just say that there are lots of the best Muay Thai boxers in Thailand.

Muay Thai was always and will always be Thailand’s national sport. In the very first competition, holed coconut shells put in water were used as timers. They would fight unlimited rounds until either one give up. The rules have developed and changed until today.

On of the fact that Muay Thai was so important in the past is whoever know, are good at Muay Thai and have great body (in the past they compare the body structure, not the weight) will get a chance to perform in front of the King and whoever win will be offered an honorable job which is the King’s secret agent, or what I call “bodyguard”. So, most of great Muay Thai fighters from the past were soldiers.

Anyway, I’ll just let you decide who the best Muay Thai fighter you know is. Share your answer with us and our friends right here. I really wanna know actually. For one thing, I believe that the best Muay Thai fighter can be anyone, not only Thai boxers. So help me out here. Let’s us know what you really think.

I still haven’t heard many of other people opinions. But some have already expected the fight result of the main bouts. For example like David will easily KO Kaoponglek and Somluck has been away from the ring for a long while, so he’s quite old must be able just to move and avoid strikes, however some still support and cheer Somluck. As the matter of fact, these English fighters does own quite lots of belts. And it won’t be in Thailand so the results can be up to the judges and referee. So I don’t wanna add my own comment here. Let’s just say anything could happen. You can tell us what you think right here.

KO him or lose!

If you’ve been with boxing long enough, you’ll agree that it’s almost impossible to win about against a local boy on home turf. The nearly only chance is to win by KO. But it’s not that easy to do so. Just like Peter Semo’s mistake on May 17. He UD lost to Ukrainian Sergy Fedchenko at Sportpalace Lokomotiv, Kharkov, Ukraine.

I’m not saying that Fedchenko wasn’t good. But if you watched the fight, you would have thought that Semo would win because he is such an aggressive boxer in the ring. Every fight he has fought he always aimed to KO his rival. And that must have been his mistake also.

And because Fedchenko won a 12 round UD over Semo (115-113, 114-112, 120-108), he captured IBF Inter-Continental light welterweight belt. Fedchenko didn’t have as much power in each punch like Semo but at the same time, he was faster and more accurate and his footwork was even better than Semo. So he could hit Semo with wonderful left hook.

At the special post-fight presser, Fedchenko claimed that Semo was good with all his powerful punches and things but he didn’t manage to land a single shot those on him- or else he wouldn’t be at that presser.

And for the ex-champ, he was disappointed with the result and hoped for a rematch. He knew that Fedchenko was fast and had very quick moves. Every time he tried to set a distance Fedchenko threw quick punches and moved around. Seme said he would have to go back and train harder for a rematch one day or for some other great fight.

This situation is world wild. You can’t win a home country boxer if you can’t KO him. In Thailand is the same! However there are some certain rules of judgment and scoring which I’ll talk about tomorrow. So come back again tomorrow to learn Muay Thai rules about Judgment and scoring here at MuayThaiArt.com/weblog.
