We have come to the second to last of the Muay Thai’s 15 Cherng Mud already. Wow that was fast! But don’t go anyway. After all these Cherng Mud that you have learn, we will continue with the next lesson Cherng Sok or using Elbows as Muay Thai weapons, which is also really interesting and good to know.

We apologize that lately we are not able to show you the drawing due to some technical problems. However, we are willing to answer any questions about the lesson we have taught which you can put right below this article in the comment section.

Alright, let’s get back to the Cherng Mud. Our 14th is called RUESEE LUEM YAN or the Unreal Fists. What are the unreal fists, you might want to know. This technical move can be done by either using the right or the left hand, thus benefitting both the left-handed and the right-handed boxing fighters. For example, if you are left-handed, you may opt to deliver a punch with your left fist. But the trick of this move is, before you deliver a punch, you would first have to push out with your right arm to mislead the opponent, making him think that you are going to blow with your right fist.

As the right fist is held in the act of being thrown, the opponent gets the wrong perception that he will be hit from your right. Impulsively, he will then sway his body to the right side in order to avoid the potential attack. As he does this, however, you must stop the action of your right arm and then throw the unexpected left punch to his right jaw, which is now unguarded.

This “unreal fists” method can also be used to target other parts of the body apart from the head area, such as the neck, the ribs, or the abdomen.

You see, boxing is not only just kicking other people’s ass, but also using your brain a lot in order to defeat someone in a fair fight.

The Muay Thai Cherng Mud series have almost come to the end. Today is our number thirteen Cherng Mud called HAK DAN LOM KROD. I hope the lesson is useful to you. Right here you can learn and practice the moves step-by-step.

There are 4 methods or Cherng Muay of using of Muay Thai weapons which are fists, feet, knees and elbows to attack and defense. And Cherng Mud is just the start. We still have Cherng Sok (elbows), Cherng Thao (feet) and Cherng Khao (knees). So stick with us for free lesson every two days right here in this weblog.

What is HAK DAN LOM KROD? HAK DAN LOM KROD is the Thai Cherng Mud’s name for throwing the fists and elbows. This move is well used for attack, defense and escape. It is actually a two-step move, the first is you punch with a fist then soon afterward you will use your elbow of the same limb. Firstly, you as a boxer have to deliver a punch, straight and direct to your opponent’s left jaw with your right hand (if you’re right handed). Then after that, as you step forward with your right foot to get closer to your opponent, then you will deliver another blow, but this time with your right elbow. It can be directed at either the same target or at your opponent’s neck.

To guard: The boxer’s blows should be wiped to the left by using the left arm and the boxer can alternatively throw the tip of one’s foot to the boxer’s midsection.

To attack: Perform a quick right kick aiming to the boxer’s left rib. If the boxer uses his left fist instead of the right and also the left elbow to strike, in this case you must use your right arm to guard and protect yourself from the blows and deliver a swift kick to his rib with your left leg.

There are only two more Cherng Mud to go. So don’t miss them!

Alright, are you ready for the Muay Thai Cherng Mud lesson? Today we are going to talk about a Cherng Mud called NAKA PON FAI KAN (let me tell you, what a name) I have no Idea how this name has to do with the move. NAKA means the god of the water, PON means to blow, FAI KAN means fire from hell.

Anyway, the Cherng Mud or Muay Thai’s punching moves are almost to the end. Once we finish with all of the Cherng Mud moves, we’ll move on to the Kicking moves. So stick with us for free Muay Thai lesson right from this blog, where you can step-by-step follow our instructions. This is a great way to learn Muay Thai at your own home.

NAKA PON FAI KAN is the name of the Cross Switch Punch. This 1-2-3 combination is mainly used for attack. The boxer first throws a left uppercut aiming at the opponent’s abdomen. He then takes a lateral step with his right foot to deliver a straight blow with his right arm, this time aiming for the opponent’s chin. This is immediately followed up with another punch to the chin, this time with the left fist.

To Attack: In order to avoid this dangerous combination, one should move away from the aggressor to increase the distance between the two and then keep your opponent from throwing consecutive kicks and punches. After stepping back making more space and gaining your composure, forcefully throw your left foot towards the boxer’s vulnerable or unguarded areas. Don’t defense yourself too much until you can’t perform any attacks.

To Defense: If the distance between you and the attacker is not great, you can throw your right knee to your opponent’s abdomen as a counter-attack. If he is a left-handed, reverse the moves from one side to another.

Welcome back to MuayThaiArt.com! I apologize for the delay. I intend to post all the articles in this blog ahead of time but lately there are so many things going on. So I might have disappointed some of you who regularly visit our blog for useful articles like this one.

We still continue today with the Muay Thai’s 15 Cherng Mud. They are the punching moves that you need to learn for Muay Thai. When we finish with the Cherng Mud or Thai Boxing’s Punching Moves, we’ll move on to the kicking. Don’t miss this. It’s 100% free!

So today’s Cherng Mud is called ONGKOT KUANG PRAKAN (”KUANG” in Thai means “twirling”). This move is also known as the Twirled Fists. I’ll tell you a little bit what it is then how to perform this move step-by-step to make it easy to follow.

This move is particularly useful when the opponent fights and afterwards begins to escape or withdraw after executing a technique. As he starts to step back, the boxer should take advantage of this good opportunity to make a good attack with both left and right punches, aiming for the chop line.

To Attack: Use both your hands to guard against blows coming from both sides. Never relax your arms as blows to the jaw can be damaging. Keep your head down and continue to move back as you prepare for a counter-attack.

To Defense: Since, once you’re in this situation, there is a very slim chance for you To Defense act the blows being thrown by the attacker, given that both your arms are locked into a defensive position as the boxer throws left and right punches, your only resort would be to make use of your lower body. You can throw your right or left foot to strike the attacker’s midsection.

Muay Thai’s 15 Cherng Mud: LUANG DAN HERA

Welcome to MuayThaiArt.com/weblog, the one of a very few places where you can learn Muay Thai moves for free. We have been talking about Muay Thai’s Cherng Mud for a while now. There are 15 of them all together and right now we are at number 10.

Today’s Cherng Mud is called LUANG DAN HERA. I know they all sound a bit funny but hey this is REAL Muay Thai stuff that you’re looking for, I can assure you that. I’ll start by telling you what the move is and how to do it. I try to say it as clearly as I can. I don’t want to confuse you by telling you so many things to do. I try to do it step-by-step, let’s see how well I do that.

LUANG DAN HERA is just like the PAJON CHANG SAN. If you can recall, PAJON CHANG SAN is done by throwing a punch and a kick at the same time. This one, LUANG DAN HERA is done by throwing a punch and the KNEE at the same time. Don’t get confused.

Like the PAJON CHANG SAN, this combination is used for attack, defense or escape. Used when there is a short distance between the two fighters, the boxer throws a right swing to the opponent’s left jaw and at the same time throws his left knee to hit his opponent’s right rib. The LUANG DAN HERA is best used when the opponent becomes careless, not bewares and lets his guard down.

To Attack: The opponent must shield himself from the boxer’s blows by sweeping the potential punch away with his left arm. He should also quickly sway towards the right while raising his elbow to protect the ribs.

To Defense: Twist a bit to the right, set your weight on your right leg, and use your left knee to strike the boxer’s right rib. This counter-attack is similar to the one used for PAJON CHANG SAN; only this time, the knee is used instead of the shin or the foot.
