Back with us again at MuayThaiArt.com/weblog. I guess some of you might have seen this movie already. Strength and Honor, if you take a look at its trailer I’m putting below here, I think you might think the same way I do that it looks ace…and kinda like an epic gypsy film. Many think it’s the best both story and acting. Now let’s take a look at the trailer, if you haven’t seen it.

Strength and Honour theatrical trailer from YouTube.com

It does look promising right. When I first watched it, I really wanna give this one 2 thumbs up. I was over come by the vid. And the music is so touchy. Really brilliant!!

Here’s the synopsis

STRENGTH AND HONOUR tells the story of an Irish-American boxer, Sean Kelleher (Michael Madsen), who accidentally kills his friend in the ring and promises his wife that he will never box again. However, years later, when he discovers that his only son is dying of the same hereditary heart disorder which has taken his wife, he is forced to break his promise in order to raise the substantial funds needed for the surgery that could save his son’s life.

STRENGTH AND HONOUR is a human drama of love and friendship, sacrifice and devotion, set against the violent underground world of bare-knuckle boxing.

Director: Mark Mahon

Starring: Michael Madsen, Vinnie Jones, Patrick Bergin, Pat Shortt

When I first heard about this film that it was about to create a center of attention of global spectators, I was intrigued and had to see it for myself. Before I bring this here, I saw Strength & Honour twice already. The acting was outstanding!!! Except for the awful Irish accents.

So I believe overall most of the people who’ve seen it liked it. There are however complains on the actors’ bad Irish accents.

You gotta see it! It is a very brilliant and well put together film. It’s one of the best films I’ve seen all year.

I guess lots of boxing fans knew and have visited this site already. IMO, Boxnews.com.ua is splendid and so complete. It’s one of my sources. The site is always modernized. Here you can find almost everything about each fight. This is the site I always come to look for updates. However it’s originally made in Ukraine so the official language of the site is Russian. But don’t worry, they also have English version (I’m not that expert in Russian), just click on the British flag above on the left.

In the site, there are boxing related you might want to know also. Besides boxing reports, there are rating, schedule, results, boxers, photos, and links.

What I like about this site is the latest boxing news is always on the left side in every page. That makes sure that I don’t miss any important news. My favorite is schedule. This is one way I keep track of Muay Thai Kickboxing. Just the rating is updated monthly, so some will have to be corrected.

Hello! We’re back again, just like every week with another Muay Thai Gym. “Eminent Air Thai Boxing Gym” is the name of this gym. It was founded in 1997 by Mr. Somboon Niruttimetee or “Attorney Toy”, a Thai boxing promoter at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, Thailand.

Thai Boxing Eminent Air Gym is one of the principal Thai boxing gyms in Thailand. Classes are now opened for foreigners and whoever interested in learning Muay Thai. There are 6 professional trainers here who are highly experienced for Thai Boxing and teaching Muay Thai classes abroad. Every course is privately watched by the masters.

Just like almost every gym, here also provides accommodation. Additionally the gym is right in the city but surrounded by green. This school offer both long term program and daily program. So those are the choices for you to pick.

Training schedule here doesn’t seem so hard. From what I see, the day starts at 6.30 am with warm up and ends at 6 pm. And the price is not that expensive comparing to those well-known gyms. One day course is only 500 baht. That’s the cheapest I guess I’ve seen so far for one day training.

For more info, you can log on to its website, where you can find out more interesting stuff about this gym, such as galleries, training schedule, trainers and boxers, VDO clips, etc. So right now you can give it a quick look at www.eminentgym.com

Muay Thai Por Pramuk Gym is a home of two world famous boxers, Buakaw, K-1 World MAX champion and Pornsawan P. Pramuk, Alias Ironman 2000.

At this site you can find info of its training courses, like training schedule and cost. The training is various depending of applicants’ knowledge and skills. Here their instructors will spend time with each student. IMO, that is a really good thing because they can correct each student the skill and techniques. The promise they give you here is you can be a real official boxer by taking course with them for a couple months.

The training here is not that different from other gyms. But it seems really tough. Start warming up at 5.30 in the morning and finishing up by drills at 7.30 pm. pretty tight for newbie. However they claim that training hard and always pushing its students are their tests to see if their students really are into Muay Thai and to see if they are ready for the ring. Not that easy and simple to train here! I believe they use this method for the great success of its students. Shouldn’t be that bad for those of you who like pushing yourself for something you want.

The only inconvenient here is the gym is not located in Bangkok. But if you don’t mind being in the city with all that good facilities, this gym should be another good choice for you because the cost is quite reasonable.
