Besides boxing gloves, shorts and other, find yourself a pair of mouthguard if you think you’re taking MuayThai more seriously. So the question would be if it is really that important.
The answer is yes! Mouth and dental injuries are serious and they can turn into a dental emergency. These injuries could be to lips, tongue, hard palate, soft palate, tonsils, inner cheeks, gum, jaws and teeth. And you don’t want any nasty to happen to your face. Don’t even mention how much pain you can get if you don’t wear it.
So basically wearing a mouthguard can prevent all these injuries. Mouthguards that are made for sport players can also protect teeth and jaws. What you have to understand is it can’t protect you from any injuries at all, but it sure will reduce the damages that can happen.

Actually not all mouthguards are the same. I categorize them in two categories; the cheap one and the ex one. The cheap ones are the ready made or the “boil and bite”. But the one for whoever got the money left is the custom made ones. That you gotta do at dental clinic of course.
If you really ask me which one is better. Well the answer sure is the custom made one that will perfectly fit your mouth and therefore provide more protection. But mostly, the people you should really have his own mouthguard ordered are Pros. If you just started to box, don’t! Because when I say it’s more expensive, it is a lot more expensive.
