If you’ve been with boxing long enough, you’ll agree that it’s almost impossible to win about against a local boy on home turf. The nearly only chance is to win by KO. But it’s not that easy to do so. Just like Peter Semo’s mistake on May 17. He UD lost to Ukrainian Sergy Fedchenko at Sportpalace Lokomotiv, Kharkov, Ukraine.

I’m not saying that Fedchenko wasn’t good. But if you watched the fight, you would have thought that Semo would win because he is such an aggressive boxer in the ring. Every fight he has fought he always aimed to KO his rival. And that must have been his mistake also.

And because Fedchenko won a 12 round UD over Semo (115-113, 114-112, 120-108), he captured IBF Inter-Continental light welterweight belt. Fedchenko didn’t have as much power in each punch like Semo but at the same time, he was faster and more accurate and his footwork was even better than Semo. So he could hit Semo with wonderful left hook.

At the special post-fight presser, Fedchenko claimed that Semo was good with all his powerful punches and things but he didn’t manage to land a single shot those on him- or else he wouldn’t be at that presser.

And for the ex-champ, he was disappointed with the result and hoped for a rematch. He knew that Fedchenko was fast and had very quick moves. Every time he tried to set a distance Fedchenko threw quick punches and moved around. Seme said he would have to go back and train harder for a rematch one day or for some other great fight.

This situation is world wild. You can’t win a home country boxer if you can’t KO him. In Thailand is the same!
