Ok I gotta admit I really lost count now how many of Cherng Sok articles. But I can tell you that it’s not over soon. Cherng Sok is basically the Thai name for “Elbowing Method”. As you know that Muay Thai has 8 weapons all together, we have already talked and explained how to do “Cherng Mud” or “Punching Method”. Right now we are still working on Cherng Sok. And if you want to learn Muay Thai for free, don’t go away.

Our way of doing it is telling you first what it is because you wouldn’t know what it really is from the Thai name of the move. Then I’ll tell you in details how to perform the move.

Fa Lan is a way to protect the elbow with arm. This might sound a little weird so why don’t we start with the how to do it now.

This progress will be used just for defense when one is stepping back. All you have to do is bending your right elbow and step forward with your right foot and deliver a punch to your opponent’s face. After that, you have to turn your body and use your left foot to decrease the space between you and your opponent. Then you will use your left elbow throwing it to the left side of your opponent’s back ribs. If you can’t hit the target, that might be because of you are too far from your opponent. You can try to hit the other target for example abdominal area.

Dealing with the attack you can use your left arm to prevent the elbow from hitting your face.

Dealing with the defense: While you’re blocking the oncoming elbow, try swinging your left knee to hit the rib of your opponent. Meanwhile you can use your right foot to strike your opponent’s midsection making sure to follow this with a similar move.
