You can learn how to do this on your own at home or even better you can ask your Muay Thai trainer for advise or any further questions you wish to know.
As we always do it, we will tell you what the move is and how to perform in step-by-step. So here we are.
The move of today is one of the Cherng Sok (Elbow moves) called KAMPANG POOPA. The name doesn’t really describe the move actually. However, it has an English name called “the Swinging Back Elbows Alternately” which I’m not sure it will help you understand it more. Let’s skip to the how to perform so you can see the picture.
Picture this. When you make a punch, kick or elbow at your opponent and you miss, mostly you will lose your balance and won’t be able to defend any attack effectively. So here is what you can do. After you know that oh shoot you miss the target, you will shift to a stance as fast as you can and turn your back to your opponent. So to prevent from any attack from the back by your opponent, try to use this move by throwing your elbows back. Swing your elbow, left or right to hit your opponent in the face and the use the other one, swinging back to hit his midsection. Alternate the action rapidly.
To the attack: Make sure your opponent is not too far behind from you before throwing your elbows back.
To the defense: insert an arm under the armpits of your opponent who is about to use this technique with you and use your inner wrist to put some force to on his neck to bend his head down as much as possible. When you are sure that you’re safe from this move and lock your opponent is this position (bent down head), counterattack by using your knee to hit his chin.
