Welcome back you guys! So how are my friends so far? Have you been perfecting the boxing moves I wrote about in this blog? And have you notice, this is our 24th Cherng Sork already. When you’re back next time, we are starting with something else. I’m thinking Muay Thai Knee moves.

The last Muay Thai elbow move is called “Naka Kluen Gai”. I don’t know why but it’s how the ancient Muay Thai boxers called it in the past. The best word to describe this boxing technique is the “Spiral Elbow”. This is quite an advance move. Extreme caution is needed when performing this technique. Here’s how.

The Spiral Elbow is normally used for defense and for escape from incoming attacks. To be able to execute this technique quickly, the boxer or in this case you have to open both elbows outwards. Keep the points of both fists next to each other and then start throwing the elbows alternatively left and right to strike the opponent’s chin. Do it as fast as you can and it will create more serious impact to the target. Step forward when necessary to keep balance and to be in a good range to the opponent to attack. This move will make the opponent unable to shoot any counter attacks.

To the attack: You must protect your jaws which are the main targets of this move from the pointy elbow attacks by holding your arm up to guard the face area.

To the Defense: Concentrate and watch out for the time when the boxer needs to get closer to you. Strike his solar plexus or any midsection with a fast strong kick.

I hope this is useful and that you have enjoyed my free Muay Thai lessons so far. And yes it’s about time to move on to another Muay Thai technique next time. At the mean time, perfect this move with your thai boxing master and get ready to learn more right here. See you next time.
