In Thailand saying that you have some kind of an amulet, also called in Thai Krueng Rang Korng Klang, is totally normal. In Muay Thai, there are lots of amulets, such as Mongkol, Pra Krueng, Dhagrut, and Prajied. They have been sacred items and an essential part of Thai Boxer’s accessories. Many Muay Thai fighters still strongly believe that their amulets will help them win the fight and protect them from bad luck.
However nowadays saying that you believe in this kindda things might make you seemed to be too superstitious so it’s more like a personal matter. However all Muay Thai fighters must have 2 of these amulets which are Mongkol and Prajied. Some might think that they are Muay Thai equipments, but actually they are amulets that from time to time become part of the clothing.
So I’m gonna tell you what these two amulets, Mongkol and Prajied are.
Monkol is a headband worn on the head as a charm to bring wealth and to keep the boxer from danger.

Prajied is a band of fabric, normally red and white and might contains a small Buddha image. It’s worn around the upper-arm during the fight. It’s believed to persuade toughness and again help the boxer to stay away from danger.
