Hello everybody! We’re back again. Today we want to introduce you to our new article. We decided that we want to teach you everything about MuayThai right here in our blog. Every single one of our article is definitely useful and really practical.
We want to start with Cherng Mud Muay. Mud in Thai means to punch. So our first move is called KA JIG KHAI or The Straight Fist. I’ll start by telling you what it is and then how to.
KA JIG KHAI or the straight fist is actually an action for attack, defense and for escape. A straight left or left swing is thrown by the fighter, specifically directly to the face of the opponent. Targets can be the opponent’s eyes, nose, or even chin. How to make this punch more effective? The fighter must use his knuckles for attacking, combined with a twist of the shoulders. For even more effectiveness, this trick should be immediately and quickly followed by another move. If this move is done flawlessly, it can stop the opponent dead in his tracks. However, if there are any mistakes in the timing of its execution, the attacker could miss his target, waste too much valuable energy, and become defenseless to a counter-attack.
Now shall we look at how to do the straight fist or KA JIG KHAI?
To Attack: To make sure that the straight fist from the opponent wound not land firmly, it should be warded off by a right blow. One can also protect himself by using his fists and quickly move away from the oncoming hit.
To Defense: As the left side remains in danger when the straight fist is executed, one can throw his right knee to the attacker’s left rib.
Alright I hope that was pretty useful. To make you get this clearer, here’s the picture of this move. Take a look. Then see you next time with more Cherng Mud Muay Thai right here!
