The event occurs on October 13 in Chonburi Province, Thailand. Who would have thought that buffalos are built to race too, not just to work in the field? Thai farmers have managed to tweak a turn of speed from these working animals that is nothing short of amazing.

The races are taken very seriously by the owners of the buffaloes. It looks like horse racing combining with buffaloes running in Spain. Admittedly, mites slower than a race horse, but the buffaloes are no slouches when it comes to making a short dash for glory.

Although the most fun of the event is the racing, there are some more activities you can do or join like food stalls, handicrafts and a beauty contest. Winning the contest and becoming a Miss Buffalo might not sound so pleasant to you, however there are a lot of girls who are willing to join the contest and be in the limelight of the catwalk. The children can have fun by riding on a buffalo back.
