Hand wraps are absolutely a must have for training Muay Thai safely. Each hand has 27 small bones that can be easily injured from just one bad punch. Hand wraps are wrapped around the hand, fingers and wrist and function as a shock absorbing layer that just a good pair of boxing gloves cannot do.

Ankle supports are used by Muay Thai boxers since Muay Thai will require a lot of movement and footwork. A tight support around the ankle joints will provide comfort and warmth to help them function better and prevent the tendons strain.

Head gear can be used while training Muay Thai as well to ensure that your training is safe.

Shin guards work the same way as boxing gloves but to your shins. They provide a thick foam layer protection to your shin and insteps. 

Elbow pads are not often used because it is quite dangerous. It is not recommended for beginners. If you once decided to train Muay Thai using your elbows which are hard, strong, and pointy bones, using the pads will help reduce the impact of the blow.
